Due to the COVID-19 lockdown in New Zealand the DNA lab is now closed and is not able to process any DNA samples.
During this time DNA samples are not to be sent to New Zealand as they will not be collected, stored appropriately or tested.
During this time we suggest the following:
- If your breeding female is on season contact your state controlling body to enquire if you meet requirements to apply for an exemption waiver.
- Note you will still need to apply and pay for a DNA kit via Greyhounds Australasia before the exemption waiver will be accepted.
- Greyhounds Australasia are still able to process applications and distribute DNA kits for all greyhounds needing to be tested.
- DNA samples can still be taken but must remain within their tamper proof postage bags and kept within a fridge.
GA has done all that is possible to find a solution but the matter is now out of our control.
