The Board, Members and Staff of Greyhounds Australasia are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Dr Jim Gannon on Monday 4 October at his Doncaster East home.

Jim was a recognised leader in the field of greyhound veterinary medicine not only in Australia and New Zealand, but throughout the world.

He devoted his life exclusively to Greyhounds and earned a national and international reputation for his informative and erudite lectures at conferences in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Macua.

Many vets and trainers have learnt their craft from Dr Gannon.

Jim has received an Australian Sports Medal and an Order of Australia Medal.

He will truly be missed but his legacies will never be forgotten.

Condolences are extended to Jim’s wife, Faith and the Gannon family
