Greyhounds Australasia (GA) today announced the resignation of CEO, Scott Parker. Scott advised the Board that following an extensive process over the last eight months to develop our Strategic Plan, which has now been formally approved, it is time for him to seek new opportunities.

Scott joined GA in 2014 and provided support and guidance to the members and stakeholders during a challenging time for the industry and has continued to push for, and encourage improvements which now are key planks of the new GA Strategic Plan - responsible breeding, safe & fair racing and welfare & rehoming. He developed positive relationships with member jurisdictions and stakeholders at all levels enabling a number of initiatives to be achieved whilst overseeing the organisation’s high quality core services to members and participants. Scott leaves GA in a very strong financial position enabling us to invest in over 30 strategic plan initiatives which have been identified by the industry as important to enable it to flourish and be recognised as a world-leader in all that we do, with a particular focus on animal welfare and racing integrity.

GA Chairman Anne Marie Harrison acknowledged and thanked Scott for his contribution; “as Chairman I have enjoyed working with Scott and have respected his professionalism, enthusiasm and commitment. His counsel and support in guiding me is appreciated. We wish Scott every success in his future career.”

GA will advise of the interim arrangements and recruitment of our new CEO in due course.
